This shift has taken us from an era of communication between people over the network to an era of direct communication between objects and devices without human intervention as a mediator. Global estimates indicate that the IoT market size will exceed 600 billion USD, with expected investments surpassing 250 billion USD in the near future, nearly 90% of which will be allocated to software and operating systems. With the continued integration of artificial intelligence technologies into IoT applications—such as smart homes, sustainable cities, smart environments, smart agriculture, Industry 4.0, smart healthcare, and the sectors of transportation, energy, and education—the impact of this field continues to expand, making it a driving force for innovation and development across various sectors.

In line with Jadara University’s vision and mission to prepare a generation of qualified Jordanian youth capable of meeting contemporary challenges, the Department of Internet of Things Sciences was established at the beginning of the first semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. This initiative responds to the needs of local, regional, and international labor markets and seeks to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and advanced technical skills. The program aims to graduate professionals capable of contributing to the development of innovative solutions in diverse fields by integrating computer science, engineering, artificial intelligence, and data analytics.
