About the Faculty

The Faculty of Arts and Design at Jadara University in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a pioneer in its field and one of the first faculties of Arts and Design at the level of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The Faculty was established under its current name in 2024, following the gracious approval of the Board of Trustees to restructure the Faculty of Arts and Languages at Jadara University, leading to the separation of the Graphic Design Department. This department served as the nucleus for the Faculty of Arts and Design. In the same year, the Higher Education Council in Jordan approved the establishment of the Faculty of Arts and Design to include the following departments:

  1. Department of Graphic Design

  2. Department of Interior Design

  3. Department of Fashion Design

  4. And a Master's program in Design and Visual Communication

The stages of development were as follows:

  • First Stage: It began as an initial department (Graphic Design Department) affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Languages at Jadara University.

  • Second Stage: The department was developed to offer a Master's program in Design and Visual Communication, while remaining affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Languages at Jadara University.

  • Third Stage: Following the example of international and local universities, the Faculty of Arts and Design was established. Accordingly, the Faculty included three departments: (Graphic Design - Interior Design - Fashion Design - in addition to the Master's program specializing in Design and Visual Communication).

The Faculty will remain in continuous development, in line with the national aspirations, projects, and future visions it seeks to implement within its strategic plan; to achieve its mission and vision aimed at developing the field of designs and arts of all kinds. It aspires to introduce new study programs that meet the needs of the labor market and offer modern programs such as Visual Arts. The Visual Arts program achieves several general goals stemming from preparing specialists in Visual Arts, contributing to the qualification of practitioners using modern scientific methods and tools, and meeting the needs of institutions in line with the job market.
