Overview: Department of English Language and Literature

The study began in the Department of English Language and Literature since the opening of the University of Jadara University in 2006, noting that the department is in continuous scientific development at all levels. There has been a noticeable change in the study plans, and the quality of the subjects taught by students, as the department aimed to keep pace with Reputable and prestigious Arab and international universities, in addition to that, the department also includes two postgraduate programs to award a master's degree in language and literature.

The department has an ambitious scientific vision, which is concluding cultural agreements with corresponding departments in prestigious universities that are known for their long experience in teaching English and have the potential to provide the department with scientific expertise through the exchange of visits and students, the exchange of publications, and the establishment of conferences and lectures. The department also has a plan that aims to encourage faculty members to complete scientific research and publish it in international and refereed scientific journals. This matter, undoubtedly, broadens the horizons of the department.

The department continuously seeks to create the necessary means that would increase the effectiveness of the department in the areas of development and creation of multiple linguistic capabilities and skills through the creation of magazines and films and the expansion of the language lab, which is to send the first female directors or prepare the means for them to continue their higher studies.
